Many older homes feature complex turned balusters and porch posts. Most were meant to be painted but some are clear finished oak or mahogany. When these houses were new there were many small shops that produced these turnings. These shops are all gone now, and the profiles they made are not available from normal commercial sources. We custom design or recreate legacy designs for stair balusters, porch posts, and other profile turnings. Each one is turned by eye, and we can match most any profile. Turning size is limited to three feet unless special arrangements are made in advance.
